  1. Excellent idea.
Quick question – you must chat about the film between yourselves for a bit after watching the flick. Like we all do. You know anything from ‘Wow. Think that sucked”‘ or to ‘Did it really catch the depth of individual character devleopment the critics descibed blah blah…….’ But do you before writing your individual web scribble and score it??

    • Hey Michael! It’s good to to hear you’re enjoying our film blog. We’re hoping to watch the next one tonight. Feel free to post your own ‘what Michael thinks…’ under any of our reviews!

If a film is bad we often bad mouth it while it’s still on haha. If it’s good or controversial, we tend to chat about it or have a wee debate! We tend to write our reviews straight after we’ve watched the movie and after we’ve had a bit of a chat. It’s even more fun because we’re complete opposites when it comes to choosing films.

  2. Your list sucks.

  3. I just came across your list. This was a great idea! I’m looking forward to reading all your reviews. I just finished ‘The Piano Teacher’ myself ( I found you from your comment on IMDB). I might have to get with some friends and do something similar.

    • Good plan Marlon! Feel free to join in with ours and tell us your opinion as we go along or just for any you fancy watching! Be sure to click the subscribe button and you’ll get updates on the blog to your email. If you start one, we’d love to hear about it!

      Tierna 🙂

  4. The Royal Tenenbaums is a fantastic movie!
One of my top 10 for sure.

Also I’m not sure I agree with School of Rock being on this list. But I guess I’m a little biased against Jack Black Humor. Though he was good in the Holiday. 🙂 I’m going to check back for your Royal Tenenbaums review.

  5. Hey Dory!

It’s good to see another lady on our blog 🙂 Thanks for posting. I adored School of Rock, Jack black is hillarious. We’ve actually already watched Royal Tenenbaums, take a wee flick through the previous pages and you’ll see our review!

There’s a subscribe option on our homepage, be sure to pop in your email and you’ll get updates whenever we post!

  6. This is a really cool idea 🙂 I’ve had a look through the list and I’ve only read 24, which is a bit embarrassing, but I’ve meaning to watch lots of them. I’m looking forward to reading your reviews!

    • Thanks Chloe. I’d seen a good few on the list before starting it but there’s still loads I’ve never even heard of never mind seen!

Feel free to join in – you can subscribe if you want updated when we post a new review. As you’ll see we’re keeping scores so we’ll unveil our Top 100 once we get through the remaining 69 films… whenever that is!!

  7. I did a top 20 list of my favourites for the naughties (http://filmactually.blogspot.com/2010/01/best-of-decade.html) and was surprised that the following weren’t included on the Times list:

    Blood Diamond
    Motorcycle Diaries
    Mystic River
    Notes on a Scandal
    The Pianist
    Finding Neverland
    Million Dollar Baby
    In Bruges
    The Kite Runner

If you have time, I suggest you check these out as well if you haven’t seen them.

    • Hey Shane. Some good films there on your list, particularly surprised Mystic River wasn’t on the Times’ list. There’s lots of other films I love from the 00s which aren’t on this… once we’re finished I’ll be doing a post on all the films that should have been on their list!

  8. Dogville
    Melancholia
    Antichris

Any von Trier movie beats those Hollywood movies of yours.

    • Yes “those Hollywood movies of yours” ha ha. This isn’t our list its The Times newspaper… we didn’t rank these we’re only watching them. And the two films I’ve given the highest scores to are City of God (Brazilian) and Pans Labyrinth (Spanish). Not exactly Hollywood eh?!

  9. Great idea, you two are on my blogroll! Althought I don’t agree with some of your critics, it’s fun to read and discover new movies!
